What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture is a connection with your local farmer and food system. By participating in a CSA arrangement, the member helps finance the up-front cost of production of a farm operation, such as seeds, equipment, labor costs, and amendments. The farmer then plans accordingly to produce food for these members for the season and distributes the food on a weekly basis. The member can expect to share the abundance and pitfalls of the season as they receive the reapings of the farm – some crops do well, others not so well and everything in between exists too.

How does the Belafonte Farm CSA work?

CSA Members purchase an eGift Card with a value that will fit their fresh, in-season vegetable needs for the season. Members receive a discount when they load their eGift Card at the beginning of the season and any time they reload their eGift Card throughout the season. Members redeem their eGift Card value at the farmers market throughout the season at any of the markets Belafonte Farm attends, any week and for any purchase value – just be sure to use your balance by the end of the market seasons.

By using eGift Cards, our CSA Share program offers flexibility for members to pre-purchase the amount of delicious, seasonal vegetables that work for them. Members can load or reload their eGift Card with any value greater than $100 and receive a 10% discount by using the discount code: CSA2025. The low-entry purchase point of our CSA Share enables members to travel throughout the season without feeling like they have missed weekly pickups, join multiple CSA programs to spread their fresh food purchases throughout the community, or simply to try out the program without a huge commitment. Our eGift Card value recommendations:

  • $100 – $200. Try out the CSA Share
  • $300 – $400. For one person
  • $500 – $600. For a couple
  • $700 – $1000. For families

Members shop for their produce at the Larimer County Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings and Boulder County Farmers Market on Wednesday afternoons. Members are welcome to shop our farm stand at either market throughout each respective market season.

If you would like to avoid the credit card processing fee, email Dennis@belafontefarm.com to arrange paying by cash or check.
