What is a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture is a connection with your local farmer and food system. By participating in a CSA arrangement, the member helps finance the up-front cost of production of a farm operation, such as seeds, equipment, labor costs, and amendments. The farmer then plans accordingly to produce food for these members for the season and distributes the food on a weekly basis. The member can expect to share the abundance and pitfalls of the season as they receive the reapings of the farm – some crops do well, others not so well and everything in between exists too.
How does the Belafonte Farm CSA work?
Each week, members will receive fresh, in-season vegetables according to their share size. Members will pick up at the Larimer County Farmers’ Market on Saturdays. At this time, we are only offering Saturday pickups until the CSA membership hits a critical mass and then we will offer a mid-week pickup again, thank you for understanding. In the sign up form, please let us know if you would prefer a weekday evening for pickup, we will take your input into consideration, thank you.
The Whole Share provides 10 items per week and is intended for 2-4 people who eat an average amount of vegetables or an individual who really enjoys vegetables!
The Small Share provides 6 items per week and is intended for 1-2 people.
The CSA shares will provide food for 20 weeks beginning Saturday May 25th and ending October 5th.
The pickup location:
- Saturdays 9 AM – 1 PM, from the Larimer County Farmers’ Market
- 200 W Oak St, Fort Collins, CO 80521
- Please bring a reusable bag or box to haul your delicious share items home!
